Visit the Pilsner Urquell Brewery in Pilsen (Plzen in Czech).  This brewery was opened in 1842 and the beer has been termed as the best in the world.  "Pilsner Urquell" means "Pilsner ancient spring" and it is the water, hops, grain and yeast that give it its special taste along with the expertise of the brewmasters.  It is a bottom fermented lager available in most countries of the world.

Pilsner is a 1 hour drive from Prague and a visit through the brewery is a must for a beer connoisseur.  Your professional, English speaking guide will meet you at your hotel in Prague and take you to Pilsen with the vehicle of the right size for your party.  Here you join a tour of the brewery which takes about 100 minutes and ends with actual beer tasting in the cellar among the vats.  Find out about the history of the brewery and how the beer is made.  The term "Pilsner" has been adopted by other world breweries that brew their beer in similar manner.
