Prague Airport

Prague International Airport - Ruzyne - is located about 20 km (12.5 miles) north west of the city center.  The drive to and from the center can take anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes, depending on traffic.  There are 3 terminals - North #1 and North #2 and the South terminal.  The North terminals service most passengers.  The South terminal is of no concern to the "usual" tourist since it services military personnell and private planes.

Current Prague Ruzyne Airport Schedules

How do you know which terminal you will be arriving at or leaving from?

If your last/first leg of your journey is arriving/departing from a non-Schengen Treaty country, you will arrive/depart in/from terminal North 1.  If your last/first leg of your journey into/from Prague is from/to a Schengen Treaty country, you will arrive/depart in/from terminal North 2.

Please note, being a member of the European Union does not necessarily mean one is a part of this treaty.  Also, not all Schengen Treaty countries are European Union members - a bit of a confussion.

Schengen Treaty countries - Terminal North #2

Austria (Vienna)
Belgium (Brussels, Antwerp)
Denmark (Copenhagen)
Finland (Helsinki)
France (Paris)
Germany (Frankfurt, Cologne, Munich, Duesseldorf, Berlin)
Iceland (Reykjavik)
Italy (Rome, Milano, Florence)
Greece (Athens)
Luxembourg (Luxembourg)
Netherlands (Amsterdam, Den Haag)
Norway (Oslo)
Portugal (Lisabon)
Spain (Madrid, Barcelona)

All these countries except Norway and Iceland are European Union members.

Not all cities are listed.

Non-Schengen Treaty countries - Terminal North #1

Everyone else.

What is a Schengen Treaty?  Good question.  Please see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schengen_treaty
