Konopiste Castle and Velke Popovice Brewery
The Konopiště castle is located about 45 km south of Prague. It was founded in the 14th century and in 1887 renovated by the successor to the Habsburg throne, Ferdinand d’Este, also known as Archduke Ferdinand, who was assassinated in Sarajevo in 1914. This event is known for having sparked World War I. The chateau is famous for its fascinating collection of furniture, weapons, hunting trophies and other objects of art.
After visiting the chateau, we will take you to a Czech brewery, in Velke Popovice, where you get a chance to see how beer is made. Wear comfortable shoes and a jacket! The floors of the brewery tend to be slippery and the cellers are cold! The tour includes the entrance fee to the castle and the visit to the brewery with beer tasting.
