Petrin and the maze

Prague has it’s very own Eiffel Tower, only, it is called “Petrin” and it is only 1/5^ththe size of the real one, this one being only 60 meters (180 feet) high.  This does not make it less interesting or challenging.  It’s 299 steps need to be conquered on foot since the only elevator present is for emergencies.  The view from the top is breakthtaking however and certainly worth the climb.  All of Petrin Hill is really a beautiful park which is criss-crossed with walking trails with views of the city below.

To get to the Petrin hill, your guide will take you on a tram to the funicular which will then take you to the top.  Once there, you can also visit the “Bludiste”, a maze with mirrors to confuse your senses, fun for the whole family. 

We suggest a lunch in a local, non touristy restaurant on the hill.

After this visit, the beautiful park surrounding the tower makes for a very pleasant walk to the upper part of Prague where you can stroll down to the river via the Prague Castle courtyards.  On the Square of the Little Quarter, climb another tower … the tower of St. Nicholas.  It is from here that the “comrades of the past” spied on their folk below.  The view from there is another great photo opportunity.  After clossing the Charles Bridge, take the 45 minute wooden boat ride on the Vltava and admire the city from the river.  A drink and small snack is included. 

Finish either in the city center or your guide will take you back to your hotel.
