- a 1 hour boat ride on the Vltava River
Your tour starts at your hotel where your professional, English speaking guide picks you up and takes you to the Prague Castle with public transportation. Our trams and the subway are very clean and efficient. Once at the castle, you walk through the 4 courtyards, visiting part of the St. Vitus Cathedral, which is the main church of our country. Then it's into the Little Quarter and lunch. U Glaubicu is a typical, Czech restaurant with delicious Bohemian fare such as the "svickova" pictured below. Dumplings are our starch and part of most meals. After lunch, continue over the Charles Bridge, the oldest bridge in Prague built 1357 by our most famous king and emperor, Charles IV, into Old Town where you see the Astronomical Clock, the old city hall, the Old Town Square and more. Visit Wenceslas Square as well, the site of the 1968 invasion of the Warsaw Pact troops, the May parades, and now a bustling shopping and nightlife area of Prague. Continue via Paris Street, the street with the plush, luxury shops such as Prada, Cartier, Jimmy Choo and many more. Walk through the Jewish Quarter, where the oldest synagogue of Europe is viewed on the way, the Old-New Synagogue from 1270. Then board your boat and enjoy the views of the Straka Academy - the seat of the Czech Government - the Kramer Villa - the residence of the Prime Minister while in office, Hanavsky Pavilion and much more. Your guide will take you back to where you want to go. Either back to your hotel or to the nearest public transportation point from which you can get back later on your own, providing you with tickets both ways.
