We invite you to take a trip with us to one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, to Vienna, Austria. This city, located on the Danube River, is considered to be a town of music, historical sights, museums and shopping. The journey takes about 3.5 hours, depending on the traffic on the D1 highway. In Vienna you will arrive at the well known public amusement park, the “Prater”. You will recognize it thanks to its famous Giant Ferris Wheel, which offers an amazing view of the city. Your coach waits for you here and you have the opportunity to explore Vienna on your own or let your driver/guide take you into the city center with the underground. Vienna has an excellent subway/underground system that is easy to use and this is the recommended way for you to get to the very center of the old city - to the famous cathedral, Stephansdom. From here, the plush Kaertnerstrasse, a shopping street, leads to the Opera House, the museum of the old masters, the royal residence - the Hofburg and to further sites, all within walking distance of each other. You will have approximately 7 hours (depending on road conditions) to explore Vienna before the coach starts it's journey back to Prague. To get to the very city center on your own, you can take metro line U1 from the station “Praterstern” to the station “Stephansplatz” (the 3rd station in the direction of "Reumannplatz"). If you would like to shop, do not forget to also visit the “Mariahilfer Strasse”, which is well-known for its numerous larger department stores. You should definitely take your time to taste a renowned “Sacher” cake in one of the local cafés or directly at the Hotel Sacher, where this famous desert originated, located steps from the Opera House. From the city center, back to the station “Praterstern”, you need to take the metro line U1 in the direction of “Leopoldau”.
Departure from Vienna is at 17:30 (5:30 pm) and you will arrive back in Prague at approx. 22:00 (10:00 pm). The distance is about 310 Km/193 miles each way. Please don’t forget your passport, you are going to another country and may be asked to show it.
